Note: The pulse hole is the most important part of the carburetor . The carburetors come with external pulse fittings. On a 4/cycle engine, using most current intake manifolds include EC manifolds the pulse
hole should come from the flange side. On the HL-196 it has pulse fitting on the pump plate of the carburetor and on the flange. We recommend using the hole on the flange and plug the pulse fitting on the pulse plate.
When installed on a 2/cycle Reed valve engine, again follow the instruction above.
If you have a 2/cycle piston port engine , use the pulse fitting on the pump plate and attach hose as short as possible to the crank case and plug the hole on the flange of the carburetor.
